Hosting together, across the world
A world championship becomes more attainable when neighbouring Members host it together.
WUFO’s regional co-hosting system brings Members from the same geographic area into a Host Cluster. They share the tournament’s organisation, responsibilities and local opportunities, so that a Member does not have to carry the entire undertaking alone.
The Championship Cup spans seven categories and 35 permanent Host Clusters. Each cluster receives a hosting opportunity in each twenty-year rotation, subject to activation and certification. A draw determines which category it hosts; the category is not known in advance.
The aim is to let Members of different sizes participate in hosting with their neighbours, use venues suited to their long-term needs and avoid building costly stadiums with no lasting purpose.
